Our investment in the training of young people in the Borders, is an ongoing commitment.
We recruit all of our people from the local area and they are directly and permanently employed by Murray & Burrell.
We are immensely proud of developing the Borders’ future tradesmen and our record on staff retention – many of whom have worked with us now for over thirty eight years - is testimony to that commitment.
This year alone, despite the downturn in the economy, we have taken on four new trainees/apprentices.
We also retain a family firm culture, with three generations from the same local family working with us.
Members of the Wilson family have been working with Murray & Burrell since the 1950s.
Brian Wilson, the grandson of Kit Wilson, has recently completed his Apprenticeship as a plasterer.
